Terms of Service
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Services
PlainlyBooked provides monthly bookkeeping services, including transaction categorization, account reconciliation, and financial reporting, along with optional add-on services such as Bill Pay and Accounts Payable management. The specific scope of services for your business is defined in your engagement agreement, not on this website.
Not Tax or Legal Advice
Bookkeeping services are not a substitute for advice from a licensed CPA, tax attorney, or financial advisor. PlainlyBooked does not prepare tax returns or provide tax strategy advice. We recommend working with a qualified CPA for tax filing and planning.
Getting Started
An initial document upload or consultation is a first look to help scope the engagement and does not by itself create an ongoing service relationship. Ongoing monthly service begins only after a signed engagement agreement.
Pricing & Payment
- Published pricing reflects a starting rate; your actual rate is set based on transaction volume, number of accounts, and complexity, as confirmed in your engagement agreement.
- Fees are billed monthly and are due upon receipt unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Monthly billing is automatic (autopay) as a standard condition of service, charged on the 1st of each month via the payment method on file and continuing until canceled. Payment information is stored securely by QuickBooks Online (via QuickBooks Payments), not by PlainlyBooked directly. This authorization may be revoked at any time by written notice, though an alternate payment method must be arranged to remain current.
- Add-on services (Bill Pay, Accounts Payable management, etc.) are billed per the rates in your engagement agreement and may change with notice.
- Late payment may result in a pause in services until the account is current.
- PlainlyBooked's services are not currently subject to sales tax. If this changes due to a change in applicable law, affected clients will be notified and any applicable tax will be itemized separately on future invoices.
Client Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate, complete financial information and documents in a timely manner. Delays or inaccuracies in the information you provide may affect the accuracy or timeliness of the work performed.
Bill Pay Authorization
If you enroll in Bill Pay services, a separate written authorization is required before any payments are executed on your behalf. This authorization can be revoked in writing at any time.
Cancellation
Either party may cancel ongoing monthly service with 30 days' written notice, unless otherwise specified in your engagement agreement. Fees for work already performed remain due.
Limitation of Liability
PlainlyBooked will perform services with reasonable care and in accordance with generally accepted bookkeeping practices. To the extent permitted by law, PlainlyBooked's liability for any claim arising from these services is limited to the fees paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Changes affecting an active engagement will be communicated directly.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles.
